I have been on the hunt for a chic snake ring for some time now! I was excited to find this beauty. It's solid 9ct gold with etching that details the eyes and head of the snake.
Snakes have featured in jewellery for centuries. In ancient Greece and Rome, the shedding skin of snakes symbolised regeneration and rebirth. In the Victorian era (mid-1800s), jewellery was heavily influenced by ancient Greece and Rome, so unsurprisingly snake jewellery was very popular, often featuring a serpent bangle or ring.
