A beautiful solid 9ct yellow gold puzzle ring.  The gold has a soft yellowish-rose hue, common in vintage pieces. 

This puzzle ring is made up of four gold pieces that are interconnected. This ring has been soldered together, however it likely once was able to be pulled apart (it's probably for the best that this is no longer possible - it's not easy to put back together again!). 

Puzzle rings have been around for hundreds of years. Legend has it this design originated with Turkish royalty hundreds of years ago. Together with his jeweller, a Turkish king designed the puzzle ring so that it unravelled when taken off, with the idea being he would catch his bride if she was unfaithful. Whether the story is true or not, the name remained - this design is sometimes referred to as a 'Turkish wedding band'.
